Working with Zion

Who actually does the work?

Our trade partners do the hands-on work, and I manage every project start to finish. They're independent, insured specialists we know and trust. Every trade partner we put on your project carries its own insurance, and licensed trades are done by state-licensed partners. You keep one point of contact the whole way through: me.

Are you licensed?

Texas doesn't issue a state license for general contractors. Trades that do require one — like HVAC, electrical and plumbing — are done by state-licensed partners. What we can promise is the rest: every trade partner carries its own insurance, every project gets a written scope, and I walk the work myself before we call it done.

How fast can you come out?

Usually within a few days; call or text. After a big storm it can take a little longer because everyone's calendar fills at once, but we'll always tell you honestly when we can be there. If you have an active leak, say so when you reach out and we'll do our best to prioritize it.

Is everything really paperless?

Nearly. Your walkthrough photos, written scope, e-signature, progress photos and close-out packet are all digital, so everything lives in your inbox instead of a kitchen drawer. If you'd rather have paper, just ask. We'll still hand you a printed copy of anything you want.

Do you offer financing?

Financing options — coming soon. We're setting up options now and won't advertise anything until it's ready and we can explain it clearly. In the meantime, ask us during your walkthrough and we’ll tell you where things stand. Until then, we’re happy to talk through ways to phase a larger project.

How much will my project cost?

It depends on the scope, so we don't publish prices. After the walkthrough, we can give you a ballpark range, not a quote, and then a written scope with the real number before anything is signed. If something doesn't need doing, we'll tell you — that's often the best way to keep a project affordable.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Austin and the towns around it — from Leander, Georgetown and Round Rock down through Buda, Kyle and San Marcos to New Braunfels and Canyon Lake, west to Dripping Springs, Driftwood and Wimberley, and east to Bastrop, and everywhere in between. For larger projects like remodels and big fence jobs, we travel farther: Killeen to San Antonio, out toward Waco and College Station.

Services

Do I need storm damage to hire you?

No. Most of our projects start after a storm, but plenty don't. We take on general construction and remodeling inside and out — gutters, fencing, paint, drywall, cabinets, decks and more — whether it's a repair, a replacement or a full remodel. Call or text and tell us what you're thinking about.

Are gutter guards worth it?

Sometimes. If you have tall trees dropping leaves, needles or oak tassels into your gutters, a good guard can save a lot of ladder time. If your lot is open, they may not earn their cost. We'll look at your trees, roofline and gutter size during the walkthrough and give you an honest recommendation either way.

Should I repair my fence or replace it?

If the posts are solid, repair usually makes sense — replacing pickets or a few rails costs far less than a new fence. When posts are rotted at the ground, leaning, or the fence is near the end of its life, replacement is often the better value. We'll show you photos of what we find and let you decide.

Can hail damage my AC unit?

Yes. Hail commonly bends the thin aluminum fins on outdoor condenser coils, which can restrict airflow. AC and HVAC work is performed by our state-licensed HVAC partners, who can evaluate the unit and recommend a fin repair, coil work or replacement. If storm damage is found, it may be covered depending on your policy. Your insurance company makes that decision.

Do you fix foundations?

We coordinate foundation repair through specialized partners, and it always starts with a proper evaluation. Central Texas sits on expansive clay soil that swells and shrinks with moisture, so cracks and sticking doors don't always mean the same thing. We'll help you get the right specialist out, explain the findings plainly, and manage the related repairs.

Storm & insurance

Do you work with insurance claims?

We document storm damage with photos and plain-English notes, and we can be there when your adjuster inspects the property to explain what we found. We're contractors, not public adjusters — your claim is between you and your insurance company, and we don't negotiate or file it for you. Policy questions are best answered by your insurance agent.

Can you be there when my adjuster comes?

Yes — to explain what we found. We'll walk the property with the adjuster, point out the damage we documented and share our photos. We don't negotiate with your insurance company or act on your behalf. If you ever disagree with a claim decision, a licensed public adjuster or attorney is the right person to talk to.

Will you cover my deductible?

No. Texas law requires homeowners to pay their insurance deductible. We will never offer to waive or cover it, and you should be careful with any contractor who does. What we will do is give you a clear written scope, so you know exactly what work is planned and what it costs.

Will insurance cover my repairs?

If storm damage is found, it may be covered depending on your policy. Your insurance company makes that decision. What we can do is document what we see with photos and plain-English notes — for example, damage consistent with hail or wind impact — so you have a clear record. For questions about your policy, talk to your insurance agent.

Warranty

What warranty do I get?

Warranty depends on the project. Some work carries our own workmanship warranty; on other work, our trade partner's and the manufacturer's warranties pass through to you. Either way, your written scope spells out exactly what's covered, for how long, and who stands behind it — before any work starts.

How do I make a warranty request?

Call, text or email us with a few photos of the problem and your address. We'll come take a look, figure out whether it's covered by our workmanship warranty, a trade partner's warranty or a manufacturer's warranty, and tell you what happens next. Your close-out packet lists every warranty that applies to your project.

Roofing

Do you replace roofs?

No. Zion doesn't replace roofs. Roof replacements go through our partner, Priority Roofing, where I work as a Senior Project Manager. You keep one point of contact — me — from the roof to the gutters to the drywall, so a storm project doesn't turn into juggling three companies.

My roof and my gutters were both damaged. Who do I call?

Call or text me at (512) 636-0889. If your roof needs replacing, that work goes through our partner Priority Roofing, and Zion takes care of the rest — gutters, screens, fencing, paint, drywall and anything else on the scope. One walkthrough, one point of contact, and no finger-pointing between companies.
