AC & HVAC
Repair and replacement through our state-licensed HVAC partners, managed by us.
In Central Texas, a working AC isn’t a luxury. When it struggles, you want a straight answer about why — not an automatic pitch for a new system.
AC and HVAC work is performed by our state-licensed HVAC partners. We bring them in, coordinate the work with anything else your home needs, and stay your point of contact the whole way through.
When it’s time
- The house won’t cool down on hot afternoons, or some rooms never do.
- Condenser fins are bent or flattened, or the unit is louder than it used to be.
- Energy bills climb without a change in how you use the house.
- The system is older and needs repairs more and more often.
When you don’t: Many cooling problems are a dirty filter, a clogged coil or a simple part. A diagnosis comes before any talk of replacement.

Good to know
Repair vs. replace
Newer systems with one failed part are usually worth repairing. Older systems that need a major component often make more sense to replace, especially as refrigerants change.
Efficiency
Higher-efficiency systems cost more up front and use less power. In a long Central Texas cooling season, the difference adds up, but the right size matters more than the rating.
Hail guards
Coil guards help protect condenser fins in future hailstorms. Your HVAC partner can tell you whether they suit your unit.
What hail and wind do
Hail commonly bends and flattens condenser fins and can damage the coil, which reduces airflow and cooling. Damage consistent with hail impact on the outdoor unit is worth documenting promptly. If storm damage is found, it may be covered depending on your policy. Your insurance company makes that decision.
Questions
Can hail damage my AC unit?
Yes. Hail can bend and flatten the thin aluminum fins on the outdoor condenser and, in harder storms, damage the coil. Bent fins restrict airflow and make the system work harder. We photograph the unit during the walkthrough, and our state-licensed HVAC partners evaluate whether the fins can be straightened or parts need replacing.
Is Zion licensed for HVAC work?
AC and HVAC work is performed by our state-licensed HVAC partners, who hold the Texas license the work requires. We scope and manage the project and coordinate the HVAC partner with the rest of the work, so you still have one point of contact from start to finish.
Should I repair or replace my AC?
It depends on the system’s age, condition and the cost of the repair. A newer system with one failed part is usually worth fixing. An older system facing a major repair often makes more sense to replace. Our HVAC partners give you a straight diagnosis first, and we’ll talk through both options.
